Dr. Katz is a licensed clinical psychologist in New York and New Jersey who received her bachelor’s degree from Sarah Lawrence College in 1984 and her doctorate from Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology in 1992. She completed her clinical internship at NYU Medical Center and Bellevue Hospital and received specialized training in eating disorders at Eating Disorder Resource Center in New York City.

Dr. Katz maintains a private practice in Montclair, NJ, providing individual psychotherapy to adolescents, adults, and couples. Her main area of focus has been the treatment of eating disorders (anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, body image disturbance, and exercise obsession) since 1995 and has extensive experience in other issues related to women’s psychological health.

Dr. Katz is a past board member of the Eating Disorder Association of New Jersey, where she led local support groups. She continues to be active in the community raising awareness about eating disorders.   

Dr. Katz lectures and conducts workshops for adolescents and college students on topics related to eating disorders, particularly in early detection and intervention of the illness. Consulting and supervising other therapists on challenging eating disorder cases is a growing part of her practice.
